Wouldn't that burn really ineffciently ...lots of particulates and smoke and not to forget the creosote! IMO and most stove manufactures suggest that one shouldn't burn a wood stove all night..unless your ready for chimney troubles..constant cleaning and maybe you're cool with a one off chimney fire.

Can you tell me what in the world kind of stove somebody would use where they have to work in shifts getting up every couple of hours to keep it stoked ? I remember years ago someone had a channel complaining about that and how they don't sleep well because they have to keep putting wood in and I'm thinking it sounded like they had some real teensy weensy wood burning stove if that was the case .

@@gardensofthegods I don't burn overnight but people I know that do don't have to get up during the night at all. They do as the video suggests, build a good hot coal bed by day, rake the coals to the front and tightly stack logs in behind and restrict air flow a bit. No stoking or adding logs needed. By morning they have a new coal bed to build a morning fire.

Full masonry is just the best i had mine clean and its a 3 story chimney it did have a slight crack at the very top the guys said in all reality your chimney is so overbuilt with stone i wouldnt worry the industry standard frowns on that but the brick is so thick and so many layers the whole run from bottom to top i am not worried in the olden days that was all that was used. And with the fresh air intake the air is whipping so quick threw it it is unbelievable. It probably happened from heating the flue to fast i can go from no fire to a ranging fire in minutes i wish i knew when i got the house to heat the flue slower. Oh well live and learn i guess. But ya dont dampen fires yes it slows the burn but slow burn is a dirty one. Amd good dry hardwoods is a must no damp crap wood.

clean and environmentally, humans have been burned fire to keep warm and cook on for nearly 6000 years and yet the earth had no issues...all this crap about save the earth is the issue. they give glory and worship the creation and spit in the face of the Creator, the Lord God the maker of heavens and the earth and all it contains... The Lord has shown me what is coming, I've been preaching this hard message for over five years and most carried on like all would be okay, well here we are and the Lord is turning up the heat...for when a nation forsakes the Lord, the Lord forsakes that nation...Psalm 9:17.... Due to the abhorrent sins of this once great God fearing nation, the Lord God has removed His hand of blessing and is now pouring out His indignation upon us. The Lord works in this fashion... 1. He removes the food production of the land. 2. He removes the wealth. 3. He removes the people. This pattern is well documented through out the Holy Scriptures. Yet even most sin blinded Christians still point the finger at the leaders... Sin of any nation against the Lord God comes with consequences Haggai 1:5-7 King James Version 5 Now therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways. 6 Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes. 7 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways. Like Isaiah, I asked the Lord how long do I preach this message and this is where He lead me too... Isaiah 6:11-12 King James Version 11 Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate, 12 And the Lord have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land. Now understand these words are written to the children of God and not the children of the devil....let that sink in.

I got a home with an addition and a gas fireplace. They used a ridge vent as the chimney vent.. im not sure thats up to code or not but is a cathedral ceiling and they put in the ridge vent and built a u channel out of 1x6 on the ceiling to channel the fireplace.. ridge vent is 15 feet long.. the issue i have is since there is a ridge vent on a cathedral ceiling with only the 1x6 in between the conditioned air and outside air, there is condensation building up and causing mold to develop on the drywall ceiling and wood.. i dont use the gas fireplace because the stupid vent and i dont trust it. But the mold is too much so im going to have to remove the vent, fill in the channel with firestop foam then install some kind of chimney like a simple double wall 4" tube with a cap and boot .. bitch of it is they built the entire wall the fireplace is on out of flag stone.. so theres a good 1 foot by 2 foot hollow leading up to a metal enclosure directing the air to the ridge vent.. i dunno what they were thinking because i dont get how any air was supposed to create the negative pressure for the chimney to work properly without blowing the carbon monoxide right back in on a windy day.. theres no flu only the built in one on the gas insert.. some people arent all there i think..

Builder sending a painter but wouldn’t it be better for builder to replace the entire fireplace? Afraid the spray & curing will trigger asthma.
